PART I

I originally thought this would be a trilogy but I’m not sure how this ends yet. Enjoy..

//
I always thought poems had to be long
But your brief presence in my life has shown me otherwise

A small burst of light
That brightened my atmosphere
Woke my moons
And stirred my stars
On an unsuspecting night two universes became one
And I was certain yours was the next planet I would orbit

How could I know one singular meteor
So wide and unavoidable
Would spin us in such opposing directions
Or
I tentatively wonder
Set us back to our rightful course?

From the briefest collision
A whole universe has changed
So I will keep this short
As fleeting as your stay
But hopefully just memorable enough
You will want to enter the pull of my orbit once more

Because I thought poems had to be long
Did this feel complete to you?
